As our Allies and Friends, i feel that you should know about this situation with AASA.

AASA recently updated their BAN lists with OLD never before published logs that were previously lost. These Logs had been LOST for over 2 years before they were found again and applied. I know SK reads all these forums, the AASA BAN appeal section is now crawling with players who were banned recently by these OLD and unreliable logs. One of the accused is our own {TX}Copper. He has been accused of having a CVAR infraction in these old logs that were never published until just about a week ago. The infraction occurred before he was even recruited into our clan, now 2 and half yrs later with a clean record during his membership with us he has been posted as banned on AASA logs. When this happened our Officers dug deep into the situation and found that many players including some {TX} allies and well known players have been added to this list as well. We have teamed up with different clans and action is being taken as i type this out.

Members of {TX}, including myself, had a meeting and have unanimously concluded that AASA has failed to provide server admins with proper data for years and that the recent application of old unreliable logs has unveiled that they are not fit. We have concluded to escalate the situation to make sure that these errors are unveiled to the public, including AA personnel.

I cannot persuade you or ask you to join us, I can only report the situation to you and ask you what you know, have experienced and what you think about the AASA organization.

You can read more about this on our forums, including {TX}Turkeys official posts to AASA admins here http://www.texasclan.com/forum/index.php?topic=4431.msg33733#new

I think you should be able to ask for a review and if there has not been any other infractions for 2 years, they should remove your name and let you have a clean record.

Alot of these logs are un-reliable an complete Bull****. In addition most can't prove that they are clean because they can't send copies of the files etc....

LS has no support for AASA and I havn't since they banned me a few years ago just for being registered at ACI :)

I am in agreeance with SK and Luke They Should remove the bann on him and I don't support them because of their lack of concern for not proper reporting and for banning SK for no reason!!!

EXACTLY! they ****ed up. If they have not had those logs for 2+ years i would think all the hackers would have already been caught by the present running anti-cheat measures. Buncha' morons.

All that Titan has stated is in fact true. DWARDEN who is no longer with AASA as far as I can tell had possession of said disk or disks for a period of time unknown to me as yet. He either refused or was unable to produce these logs from this disk(s) and it was not until recently that AASA supposedly got their hands on them. They then decided to reparse the logs and ban based on them. I do realize that there may be, and probably are, valid bans that could be handed out based on the data contained but the fact remains that this "evidence" was not in AASA hands proper and could and should be listed at tainted. Most of those banned have no real way to appeal due to time passed. If AASA were to ask for a file submission, there is no way to reproduce. Many of the log file bans I've read in their forums are similiar if not exactly like those I've seen myself over the years where a person had updated AA or a punkbuster update and something was not quite right in the update such as map kicks *.u files and such. I personally do not intend to let this matter go until AASA drops the old logs from use and unbans all those banned by the logs--and NO, it does not matter to me that copper was one caught in the mess...his ban is just what brought this to my attention. We are not the only ones with this mess as another of our allies {STX} has also had a member caught in it...Furious_Gerbils. His ban was from 4 years ago and only came to light in early March.

I'm glad to hear that you guys feel the same way.

I'm pushing for TX to lead an Anti-AASA group of clans who will ban the use of AASA logs from their servers, and encourage their members to not play on servers with AASA. I don't want to ruffle anyones feathers so i am not expecting for you to just jump on it because we are, you fellas will have to make the decision of your own, realize that we as well as our allies should be prepared to handle the criticism of pro-aasa clans/groups. It is with great respect to LS that I extend an invitation to the Lone Star Clan to join the ranks. Would love to have you guys at our side!

You guys know my stance, however, I personally won't go into an "Anti-AASA" type of thing as far as I go, for obvious reasons.

However, I do believe LS as a whole probably will, we'll talk it over :-)

I would help take on the battle. But, I don't feel that it's the best thing to do in my position. Since, CaptDD, my father is an -ACI- Administrator (Like SK). Plus, my former ties with ACI being on the PBSS Staff, and currently on the Graphic Arts Staff.

Sorry guys, I would help out. If I wasn't in the position I am.

We actually have standing members of AON & ACI organizations advising us with the situation. Your position is understandable wouldn't try to force you to do anything your not comfortable with, however i feel you might be interpreting this as something it is not, let me explain the position of TX on this guys.
We are not fighting to rid AA of anti-cheat organizations, the only one we have a problem with is AASA, we are requesting that they drop the use of the said logs which are unreliable and potentially corrupt, due to the fact that there is no way an accused player can appeal his/her ban after 2.5 years of time lapsed. People change their PC's configuration or buy new ones yearly! Their refusal to cooperate in the situation is what has prompted us to take action, were exercising our rights to protest that is all.

Maybe this will help you guys in your upcoming meeting/talks maybe it doesn't change a thing, but i wanted to make it clear what were doing.

Merely making the current events known is half the battle, thank you for your attention to this post everyone. I'll keep tabs on this thread if there are questions/ comments needing answering.
